Clarifications (as at June 2012)

  1. A normal day consists of one race being held, consisting (if possible) of two runs.
  2. The race course is generally set as a slalom on which any level of skier can complete.
  3. If only one race is held then only the appropriate awards can be made. Examples of this are:
    • If only a GS is run then the two Slalom Cups (Senior Men and Women) are not awarded. In this case only the Overall Trophies are valid.
    • If only a Slalom is run then both the Slalom Cups and the Overall Trophies are awarded.
  4. Participants must finish at least one of the runs to be eligible. Their fastest time counts.
  5. Any person may win any event more than once.
  6. Trophies are generally presented at the prizegiving but are retained in the Lodge (after engraving).
  7. The Championships are run on a Saturday usually late in September with the following Sunday being a contingency day for bad weather. If both days are bad then the event should be held on the following Saturday or Sunday. If still unsuccessful, they may be cancelled for that year.
  8. Handicaps are based on the NZSA Handicap structure.
  9. A junior is eligible to win a junior, handicap or open award if he/she has the fastest time, as an intermediate is eligible for intermediate, handicap or open.
